Not totally right, but less wrong
Becoming a better human is a never-ending process.
We will never get it totally right. I write Think Daily and study and learn enough to do it – and even I mess up sometimes and struggle with things. But now I ask myself where I went wrong, and how my thinking and internal processing is flawed. And these days, most times I can see it.
I learn and avoid many of the same problems in the future.
As we get older, while it may never be perfect, we should strive to get it less wrong than in the past, and become better versions of ourselves.
“getting it less wrong”, that one is key. I believe as long as a person has breath in them, they should strive to do better.
Thank you 🙏 I am grateful for you my friend ❤️
Go, Eddie!
Always working to become a better version of myself – plenty of work still to do!
Thank you for paying it forward. Great advice!

Your big But is something you made up and accepted.
Your but is not real unless you say it is.
Did you put your but in the way of you?
Good Morning from East Tennessee! For the last 6 years Think Daily has impacted my my mindset, “On the Daily”. From a new hire in Production to General Manager at Master Services, it is still a topic of my conversation at my company. I am thankful for the consistency and content that goes out everyday!

Great reminder that we sometimes impose limitations on our lives that do not need to be permanent. We have the power to remove the “buts” and move forward into our better future!

Beautiful morning from the capital of Canada! I’ve been reading for 9 years. It’s my daily dose of inspiration, learning and gets my mind working first thing every morning. It’s an excellent way to start the day.
Thought provoking!
So often we limit ourselves with senseless thinking.
Hello from columbus Ohio . Thank you for creating this content everyday . Honestly, think daily is the very first thing I read every day, and for the last four years, it has been extremely helpful for my business, and more importantly, for my personal growth. Keep ‘em coming Larry.

Good morning! eh…We just came back from visiting Canada last week. What a privilege to live in a nation and next to a nation where it is free and safe to travel back and forth. Thanks for being a friendly neighbor! I appreciate the relationship very much. It is a beautiful morning here in eastern CT also….
Larry thanks for the Think Daily inspiration.
Good morning from Knoxville, Tennessee! For 5 1/2 years now, Think Daily is part of my morning routine. It’s a great way to start every day off on a positive note and set the tone for the day! Thanks Larry!
Hey! Love getting Think Daily, and have been subscribed for about 10 years I think!
Larry, you crack me up. “Hey, you have a big ol’ but, Heh!” I see Ohio is well-represented this morning. I’m in Columbus, in Heating-Ventilating-Air Conditioning. A subscriber for over 7 years, I enjoy your daily nudge for improvement, or contemplation of “Why do you do that?” I like your racing stories, very relatable on the process of preparation, trial and error, “thrill of victory and sting of defeat.” I appreciate you, Mr. Janesky.
Hello from Holly Springs, NC. I signed up for Think Daily when I joined the Gutter Shutter family about a year and half ago. I read both every morning.
Good early morning from Orange, CA! I’m a relatively new reader but so happy was turned onto this by a business associate recently. Thank you for continuing to make me THINK DAILY.
Good morning everyone, I have been reading think daily for many years, it has helped me in many ways. I encourage everyone I know and meet to sign up for think daily. Thank you Larry!
Always look forward to reading these! Always thought provoking 🙂
My work day doesn’t start before I read Think Daily. I’ve subscribed just about 5 years ago now. Every day, it gives me something new to think about, and challenges me to be better. Thank you Larry!
Your emails are timely and often so relevant its shocking. I enjoy reading them everyday. Thank you!
I’m brand new to the company (about a month) and look forward to the thoughts of the day. Too many times we just jump into our daily tasks and don’t spend enough time just taking a deep breath and think for a moment. They always give me that moment. Really important tool in our daily tool bag. Thanks Larry!
It’s great to recieve encouragement ever morning! Thanks!
I’ve been subscribing for almost a year and the comments are relevant and wise. Sometimes I forward them, like the one about taking responsibility for everything in your life instead of blaming others.
I came to think daily after a professional reading coaching group picked up your book and we had so many conversations. I thoroughly enjoy the time to reflect 1st thing and share with connections. I’m in Kansas and have been a subscriber since Dec. 2022
Good morning from South Carolina. Subscriber since 2016. Still reading think daily every day.

I have loved “Think Daily” for 12 years and believe that Larry Janesky for President would be an awesome Post!
When?
Good morning-13 years waking up to Think Daily -Hello from Hamden CT
BEGIN ANYWHERE!!
Good morning from Chicago burbs!
I do not remember when I first subscribed, BUT it was near the beginning and have been reading it every day since. Hello, Larry. Hope you are well.
Subscriber for yrs. Have passed this email to many of my employees and friends who have subscribed. This has created another way for my leadership team to call each other out by sending anything that relates to me/us. When you turn on your device to read the morning thought and see it twice it is a deeper wake up call to your self awareness. Thanks Larry.
Good morning from Buffalo, NY!!
Always look forward to my daily dose of Think Daily!
I am new to Think Daily and in my initial sales training at Comfenergy in Sterling, VA. Think before you speak! Be focused and kind while helping folks solve their comfort issues. The supporting tools with Contractor Nation are awesome and super helpful. Think Daily, like Pop-of-the-Day, are great venues to get my day started in a positive and focused manner. Thanks!
I’ve had a big BUT lingering over me for many years. Mine is “I want to leave my corporate job consulting financial advisors and start an advising business on my own. But, I could hang on two more years and then it’ll be a better time.” I threw that BUT out the window and my last day at the corporate job is July 28th. In other words, the first day of my entrepreneurial journey starts July 28th. No more BUTs. Time to go for it!
Hello from Ct! I have been a subscriber from the start- its a great way to start your day with this community. It may be new information, a new take on something you know, something you were not ready to hear before, or an affirmation on the direction you were going. Take time before responding either in writing or verbally as everyone is fighting their best fight and we all have challenges we are working with, the best is yet to come!
at least 5 yrs subscribed….”we can always measure the amount of money we have, but we can never measure the amount of remaining time we have”

Hello from Canada !
i been subscribe for 1 year, very good comment to thinks about yourself.
Long life to Think Daily!
Hi from Northwest Pennsylvania! Iv’e been a subscriber for approx. 2 years now and look forward to the daily messages. Something that I’m learning and trying to improve in is to not listen to the pessimists. I’m in a very volatile market and when business is difficult and everybody is talking about how bad it is it starts negatively affecting my decisions if I focus on the “now” and not on “how” I can use the downturn to my advantage. Thinkdaily helps me to keep my focus on the right path! Thank you!
Good morning from Mid-State Basements in Columbus, OH. I really enjoy the morning Think Daily’s and make it part of my morning routine. The most powerful tool all of us have is between our ears. Your mind can make or break a person. Here is an interesting “hack”. If you are not feeling 100%, force yourself to smile for 30-seconds. Strangely, your mood will improve almost instantly. Have a great day all!
I never miss Think Daily and Think for Businesspeople. These inspirational and motivational messages get me in the right headspace to take on the challenges of the day.
Good morning all,
It’s a great day to be a great day, Let’s Make it a Great Day.
I have been a subscriber since day one.
What do I get out of think daily, well it’s right in the title. It makes me “Think Daily” …. Every message makes you Ponder a thought!
It may create a thought or an idea of something that I had been working on and yet other times it’s a random seed planted that grows and leads to more thoughts and ideas.
Thank you Larry, it’s been a blessing to be able to have coffee with you every morning!
Great job my friend keep it up!
J.Kay
I’ve been getting ThinkDaily for 4 or 5 years now, always a great source of inspiration! “From the inner, the outer” is my favorite phrase from Larry. Thank you for all the inspiration you give daily, it’s much appreciated.
Hello from down the street in Building 3. I look forward to Think Daily every morning. I don’t always comment…but…I’m always here…
I have started my days for at least 10 years with your personal and business words of wisdom. I share them regularly with family and friends, even if they are already advocates. Daily reminders we all need, along with my faith based morning readings. Thank you very much Larry.
I’ve been a subscriber for the past 3 years to both Think Daily and Think for Businesspeople, and in that time they have become part of my morning routine every day. Always find the emails thought-provoking and relevant. Thanks Larry!

Your blogs help keep me headed in the right direction both personnally and professionally. Working on putting more of your advice into action.

Someone else mentioned how relevant and timely the messages are. I’ve long said the same and have heard this from others as well. How does he know? How does Larry know, in advance and on a schedule, what people are facing and need to hear at that particular time? I’m still not sure, but it’s part of the magic of Think Daily. Love you, brother!
I start every day with Think Daily, Think Daily Business and the Daily Stoic. Always sets the mind right for the day. Got lots of Pine Needles in your gutters? Get Raindrop Gutter Guard, it’s the best. https://youtu.be/c6I1e2-xiBE

I look forward to reading your comments every day! As soon as your messages come in I check to see what you have to share. If it’s short I read it immediately, and if it’s long (3+ paragraphs) I read it later when I’m caught up with my morning routine. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to share! What a gift!
I joined on June 26th and really appreciate the daily inspiration and focus points.
For as long as you have been writing these ThinkDaily emails I thought they were just for me. Every message seems to land with something I needed or about something I am experiencing. Its not me, its the journey. Keep learning, Keep going!

Hi from southern Wisconsin!! I’ve been a subscriber from the start of Think Daily! 🙂 I agree with you that most of the time, our BUTS are self imposed. BUT (haha) sometimes they are truly out of you control. I like to try to find creative solutions around those BUTS whenever possible. Have a great day! I hope you get lots of comments!
I am new to CN. I am loving the Think Daily meditation.

Hi! I’m Les from Alberta, Canada. The Think Daily email is exactly that… It makes me think daily about a variety of life truths, random thoughts and stories that motivate and make me question why I do things the way I do and reminds me that I am the one controlling the outcome of my life and experiences. I am very happy I found Think Daily and I look forward to reading it each morning.

I have subscribed to Think Daily for over 10 years and enjoy them everyday! Thank You!
Good afternoon from the sweltering heat of Texas!
Thanks Larry for the many years of excellent training!
You can either live with the pain of discipline or with the pain of regret. And nobody likes regret. Be mindful of what enters your body. You are what you eat could easily be translated to you are what you consume. The food you consume shapes your body, but what your brain consumes shapes your knowledge, character, emotions, and at the end of the day it’s going to shape your life. So decide who you want to be and make it happen!
Happy Monday and thank you for the daily insight, Larry!
I sometimes fall into the “but” trap. It is always good to remember and identify our self imposed limitations. This blog came right when I need it for some personal situation! Sure it pushed me over the edge to overcome it!
Thank you for the daily words!!

Don Godbout – Feb 2015
Hello from Idaho. I started reading Think Daily years ago and have incorporated in my Morning routine to keep me focused on what is important or not important that day.
Growing as a person and as a company requires continuous learning, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose. Here are three pieces of advice for achieving growth in both aspects:
1. Embrace a growth mindset:
As an individual: Adopting a growth mindset means believing that your abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication and hard work. Embrace challenges, learn from failures, and see them as opportunities for growth. Continuously seek new knowledge and skills to improve yourself.
As a company: Foster a culture that encourages a growth mindset among your employees. Provide opportunities for learning and development, support innovation, and promote a sense of curiosity and experimentation. Encourage employees to take on new challenges and reward their efforts to learn and improve.
2. Be adaptable and open to change:
As an individual: Life is full of uncertainties and changes. Embrace them with an open mind and a willingness to adapt. Embracing change can lead to new opportunities and personal growth.
As a company: The business landscape is constantly evolving. Be prepared to adapt to new market trends, customer preferences, and technological advancements. Encourage flexibility and agility within your organization, so you can quickly respond to changes and stay ahead of the competition.
3. Define a clear purpose and set goals:
As an individual: Understand your values, passions, and long-term objectives. Set clear personal goals that align with your purpose. Having a clear sense of direction will guide your decisions and actions, leading to personal growth and fulfillment.
As a company: Define a compelling mission and vision for your company. Identify core values and goals that drive your business forward. Ensure that every member of your team understands and aligns with the company’s purpose. Setting specific and achievable goals will keep everyone focused and motivated, driving the growth of the company towards its intended direction.
Remember, personal and company growth is a journey, not a destination. It requires continuous effort, dedication, and a willingness to learn from successes and setbacks along the way.
SOMETHING
Just kidding. Doing a tremendous service to all your readers. Always something useful for someone
So glad I finally learned and understand to look past the “buts”.

Take Responsibility for Everything
Until and unless you take responsibility for everything that has happened in your life, you will not move forward and achieve your full potential.
Why? You are blaming others and saying it is their fault. You are giving control away, and with it your power.
Fault is past tense. There is nothing you can do.
Responsibility is present tense – you can change things.
Fault is based on past decisions.
Responsibility is based on present decisions.
Take responsibility, and take your power back.
Practicing for Monday…!
i’m practicing for Monday
Excellent message on taking responsibility.
(Note to self: Don’t forget to comment Monday.)
This is brilliant. I have a sister who is 80 and still complaining about what happened to her in 1957, 1961, 1972, you name it, all what was “done to her” as if she had no role. Blaming and finding fault can consume you with no possible upside outcome.

Your Reticular Activating System
Our eyes take in a tremendous amount of information. We can see a lot, but we can’t notice it all. We have a system in our brains called the Reticular Activating System. It looks for things that you have been thinking about. This is helpful if you are searching for something, should be concerned about something, or have been thinking about something. It very much confirms what we have been thinking about the world.
There’s a story about an attorney examining a witness where the witness is telling all about what the attacker was wearing in great detail. Then the attorney turns around with his back to the witness and asks “What color is my tie?” The witness doesn’t know. Think about the last person you talked to at work. What color shirt were they wearing? You don’t know. You saw it but didn’t notice it.
But if you are thinking about buying a Tesla, you will see Teslas all over the place.
If you are thinking about how the world is unfair, you will see that the world is unfair all over the place.
If you are looking for opportunity, you will see it everywhere.
If you are thinking of reasons to be mad, you will find reasons to be mad.
If you are looking for reasons you can’t, you will find them.
If you are thinking of reasons you can, you will find them.
Watch what you are thinking about, because you are crafting your world and your future.
The most influential Think Daily yet. As I practice visualization everyday before sales meetings I find that new opportunities open up. Not demoed turns into “my neighbor needs a help with their crawlspace.” “I’ve had several others out already,” turns into “your the only one who has listened and actually proposed what I am looking for.” Now, I know the name, Reticular Activating System, I can continue to reinforce my
opportunity lens!
So true! I like it 👍
Just another outstanding post, Larry. Absolutely phenomenal perspective and reminder – AGAIN!
Thanks!!
Thank you for this wealth of information. Very insightful and profound!
So true!
A couple of my favorite quotes and related to this are, “You are what you think about most of the time”, and “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you are right”.
This post is so true – As my life shifts and changes with the death of my father I am constantly changing my record that is playing in my head.

How to graduate from the School of Hard Knocks
The School of Hard Knocks, which we have all attended, doesn’t graduate anyone until they do things differently.
Some never learn and never graduate.

Don't believe all you have been taught.
Learning all the time is central to moving forward. But don’t believe all you have been taught.
You have been educated in failure and limitations.
Your teachers taught you what they believed. They taught you what you can not do while teaching you what you can.
So many around you have limiting beliefs and model them in their speech and actions.
