Competition and Discretion in Education
Competition and discretion in a free market has spawned innovation and quality improvements for customers in any market. Today, the government spends far more per pupil than 30 years ago with no improvement in results. Some schools, especially in urban areas, are failing badly. Is there much competition for students…
Great point. However, you will find that if parents took more of an active role in helping their kids with their education, it would not matter as much where the kids go to school.
It is not the school’s responsibility to teach your kids, as much as it is the parents responsibility to insure their kids get as much as possible from what the school has to offer.
Simple. Just get involved. The question you have to ask is… Do you give your kids education, as much time or effort as you give to your business? The problem is not the amount of money spent, it is the time the kids no longer get from their parents. Life is all about priorities and balance.
