Yes as long as we focus on the right values and messages that entertain everyone. Will the length of the story create a problem in the future? Meaning, some people have short attention span or not much time to read. Who do we want to cather to? The charming sweet hearted hero seems to be appealing to both man and women. Both group seems to like the toughness of the character for their own reasons.
