When I call someone and their voicemail is full, I think “This person is overwhelmed and can’t keep up”, or “This person doesn’t care”.
These ideas may or may not be true, of course, but keep your voicemail cleaned up and ready to accept incoming messages, lest someone think you don’t have your stuff together.
Delete, delete, delete…
What do you think when someone’s voice mail is full?
I am always surprised at the number of people who no longer use VM. I believe it’s still a valuable tool. There are many possible reasons someone may choose to leave you a VM rather than text or email. It’s very frustrating playing ‘phone-tag’ and when we finally speak, you ask me a question which, if you had left me a VM, we’d be discussing the answer to rather than you just asking it. These days, when someone’s VM is full, I assume that it’s intentional and they do not want anyone to leave them messages.
I think lazy if I’m being honest.
My thoughts when I encounter this is that the person has no organization in their life and their days are a trainwreck. I feel some sympathy but also some frustration as that is their presentation to the rest of the world which is so easy to improve with deletion which always lightens the load.
100% agree
Amen to this! I sent to all my sales staff to remind them. Thanks for the reminder!
I think the person with a full VM just doesn’t care if anyone calls them. For a businessperson, it’s a poor representation of themselves and their business. It’s most frustrating when they have asked for a return call.
I think “This person doesn’t care”
I agree, a business person must keep their voicemail open and available. If someone I know well has a full voice mail I will text or e-mail them to let them know. If I don’t know them well then there is a good chance I won’t contact them again unless I really need them. However, the way they perform in real life is usually very consistent with how they maintain their voice mail. If you have schedules to keep then don’t count on the guy with a full voice mail box!

If your voicemail is full , you are signaling you don’t have time for me either
If you can’t manage your voicemail, how can you manage a company or people?
Go, Chris! So glad to have him on the DryZone team.
I agree with Tom. How can they manage a company or people…
