Living without a sense of purpose is a malaise that affects millions. It leads to depression and aimlessness.
Purpose – a combination of what is important to us and where we are going.
Decide. Prioritize activities that align with what is important to you.
Now take action….and you are on your way.
This is very true. Honestly it is better to set your mind on a particular trade that you are familiar with and just go for it. Preferably while you are still in High School. My advice would be to look at what your Dad, Granddad, Uncles, cousins, etc are doing and work for or with them if possible. There’s no better way to learn a trade than with family. This will give you a huge boost in your career and open up more possibilities earlier in life. Too many Americans waste their Teens and Twenties chasing different careers and racking up debt from a college degree they may not even end up using. College is alright if you are decided about what you want to do and take courses based on your career path. But, as late teens can be a bit undecided about what they want to do, I would highly reccomend talking with your closest mentors whether they might be Parents, Grandparents or even somebody you admire or know that is in a trade. This is truly one of the best ways to have internal peace. Just make up your mind, become good at your job and you will not have to worry about providing for you and/or your families needs.
Thank you for including all of us in your purpose! We all have jobs because of the dream that you built and you make our projects possible. Come back from Baja smiling!
I have been reading these for years and many have spoken to me…this one screamed. I read it at least 15 times and I intend to act. Thank you.
