Who would you like to emulate?

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

It’s likely that early in life you met someone or a group that you decided you’d like to be like.

You may have stuck by that, or you may have changed course and decided to be like someone different living a different life.

Who do you/do you want to be like now?

Jeff Russell

My father-in-law! He’s always been a man of integrity. He is a self made man with very little education that literally has never worked for anyone but himself and created a wealth that made his family very comfortable. He put his family first in every case. His first words to me were, “that girl is my pride and joy, you ALWAYS treat her right”! Trust me when I say he was intimidating. He was a beast of a man that had arms as big as my legs and triceps that were as big as my entire arm.. He served in the Korean war where he earned a Purple Heart for his actions. He owned and operated a very successful business in his small town. Everyone respected him and he has hundreds of friends that truly love him. He is a very genuine man that treats every person he comes into contact with very well. He came into my life when I was 21 years old. He and I have never had a unhealthy disagreement. He’s a mans man that took over making me the man I am today. To say he is who I most admire is an understatement! He’s 87 now and battling cancer. It’s painful to watch him wither away! Recently, he told the doctor that I was his son. That’s the best compliment I have ever received!

Identifying people to emulate is a passion of mine. I have role models in several key areas of my life. My dad is a key model in many facets. His integrity and work ethic and self sacrifice are second to none. I also enjoy playing the trumpet and have modeled much of my approach and practice after Doc Severinsen – and have met him personally several times. He is the GOAT and still doing his thing even though he is now in his 90’s.

WOW …. This is a Good One!
Really made me “Think”.
I am a true believer that we must learn from other’s.
Finding coaches and mentors has helped me tremendously on my journey through life.
My immediate thought was to name a person (Larry) that I admire and has influenced me and helped me learn and grow into becoming the man I am today, but as I continued to ponder your question, I came to the realization that although I could name someone who I would most want to emulate
(Definition of emulate, match or Surpass) …
I Think I would have too say,
I want to be ,
The Best VERSION of MYSELF that I Can … buy emulating the very best Parts of the people in my life that I have come to admire and respect greatly❗

Through out my life I have seen parts of peoples personality that I wanted to be more like them but I realized later that you can only be a better version of yourself and experience can be the greatest teacher…..Accept who you are but remain open to learning in order to get better everyday and evolve into the best version of you…..

I wanted to be like my boss. Strict but with long patience. He wants his employees to practice integrity at work and outside work.
