You can’t sacrifice your life to ward off death. It’s coming.
What would be a real tragedy is to arrive at death without having lived.
This is your chance.
Your only chance.

Amen! the only One who said it better is Jesus Christ, in John 12:25 Jesus said “he who loves his life will lose it, and who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”
Translation (one of them anyway)- if we have no hope of eternal life, through Jesus Christ, on an earth made new by Him, we can spend this life in mental anguish and turmoil because people we love die and because we are afraid to die, we can be so caught up in that sorrow that we forget or can’t see through the darkness to live our lives full of joy in service for Him and for others as Jesus did. John 11:26 Jesus said “and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

So true Larry, I am the same age that my Dad passed away at 56 years young with a brain tumor, it really wakes you up when someone close has passed living wisely who was a health nut with exercising and eating along with having coached all sports being a high school teacher. In your quote, my Dad really did live till the end, loved teaching and coaching all his life along with loving and taking care of his family.
