If it's right, stay the course.

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Once you find a good business that suits you and you enjoy, stick with it. The most successful entrepreneurs are ones who have stuck with one trade for a long time, and they get really good at it.

People who are always switching businesses never get really good at it – understanding the key but sometimes subtle distinctions that make all the difference in a business. They also struggle more as the greatest struggle for an entrepreneur is at the beginning when he/she is a total amateur.

This is not to say doing the same thing the same way for a long time will yield success. It’s not the longevity itself that is a critical factor. It’s practicing and learning and improving and investing in a business over long periods of time that will yield better and better results.

It is also important that if you are on a dead horse, get off. Sticking with that one will not make things better. Redeploy yourself into more fertile ground.

I’ve been doing really the same thing for 39 years, although the dimensions of it I work in have changed. I leverage each new project with what I have learned in the past and get greater results faster. It gets easier and more fun as I get better.

How long have you been doing and IMPROVING your business? How long will you be doing it?

I’ve been honing my skills and relentlessly pursuing improvement for over 30 years. Still doing it – every day! Thank you for the tracks. Yesterday I referred someone as requested. Turns out they have been a subscriber for several years. I’ll refer two today and hope that both of them aren’t already subscribers.

Mike

Love the tracks brother!
