If you are an entrepreneur trying to make something happen, you can’t expect to go to work and not have problems. Problems are not only part of the job, they are most of the job.
Things aren’t going the way we want them. We tried something and the results aren’t right. We need more people. He’s new and made a mistake because we didn’t train him well yet. We don’t have enough of that. This didn’t come in yet. In order to do this thing we never did before we need this and that – and nobody ordered x, we sold this new thing but aren’t dialed in on how to deliver it, that part of our marketing is not working, do we even know that? Who knows about this?…
While we try to move our organization toward predictable stability where there are no problems, when we are creating something new, we have to expect them to keep coming.
Problems never end. For the leader, it’s the job.
Own it. Love it.
They never seem to end but I’m glad everyone is in the same boat and its not just my business that has the daily problems. With your training and putting new practices in place we can control some of the predictability! Great post this morning.
So true but if everything always went to plan it would be a truly boring world. I am finding to enjoy whatever comes my way makes for a way happier life. Your posts help a lot thanks
I have always said we do not have problems we have challenges. Cancer is a problem business is a challenge. Larry, you couldn’t be more on target and I keep saying to myself “IT’S ALL PART OF THE FUN” RIGHT?
