Hiring a "manager"

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

You hire a manager.  They apply all they know from previous positions and do it the way they did it at their last job.  Within 60 days they are getting the results their approach will yield, and they go sideways from there if they don’t keep learning.

Nobody is a “natural”, knowing how to manage and lead without training.

What are you doing to continually train your leaders and managers?

Hi Larry! Once again this is great information! Per your comments at the bottom I do have two teenagers who work with me part time in my construction company. Whenever I see something relevant (which is often) I pass your e-mails along to them with my comments of how it’s applicable. I think this could be a very good teaching method for businesses as well because it lets the leader (me) pass along your good information and how it can be utilized to improve my specific business, managers and employees. Thanks again!
