The "sin of send"

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Mad?  Wrote it out in an email to straighten things out or set the record straight?

WAIT.  Don’t put anything in an email that will embarrass you in the future.

Assume the world will see your emails.

Besides, you shouldn’t communicate in any way when you’re angry.

Good Morning Larry!

So true — follow the count to 20 rule and if that doesn’t work write the email you want to send in a word document, wait until the next day, and delete it once you have calmed down.

Sheila

I started when I was much younger writing it down with pen and paper and then burn or shred it. It allowed me to get my frustration or anger out and to be able to communicate better if appropriate later. No danger of accidentally hitting send.
