“Here’s some work to do”. That’s allocation. When a leader does this, the problem is when the employee is done, they come back and say “All done boss, what do you want me to do now?”. Or they may not come back very quickly or at all, “waiting for more work” to be allocated.
For the boss, it’s a never-ending line of people who keep coming back saying “What do you want me to do now?”
This may be part of some managers jobs, but it’s not the best way to lead the team.
