Teaching makes you better

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

When you struggle to make things more clear for someone else, it makes it clear for you.

If one person listens and one speaks, there is the opportunity for transformation for both the listener to be enlightened and the speaker to be better educated by struggling with the language.

Words are clumsy sometimes when you try to express what is going on in your head; let alone your heart and spirit. The more you struggle to make it clear, the clearer it gets for you.

Absolutely the truth. When I started teaching mural and cloud painting workshops years ago in Texas, I realized I had so much to learn to explain the why of things. What I did instinctively from my own studies wasn’t enough to illustrate to others why I did it. Forced me to learn mote and learn the subjects much note deeply. Once in my head I understood the why, I could pass that on. seriously, made me the better artist for the experience.
Never, never think you’ve learned all there is to know.
