Joy and pleasure are different

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

There is a significant difference between joy in your soul and hedonistic pleasure. One leaves you feeling fulfilled and the other can leave you feeling empty.

You know the difference. There’s nothing wrong with pleasure, but not at the expense of joy in your heart and soul.

Joy is a run in the woods.

Andrea

It fills me up when I see other people happy or when I know what to say or do to help them get in a better spiritual state. It feels good to help others because their gratitude and joy is palpable.

In the same time it breaks my heart when I see people struggle and sad, I know the river has to run its course and that we can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves or willing to do the work it takes, but feeling other peoples emotions is one of my biggest strengths and weaknesses.
