Today, let’s think about luck with these quotes on the subject, compiled by Dr. Mardy Grothe:
“Luck is not a chance –
It’s toil –
Fortune’s expensive smile
Is earned”
– Emily Dickenson
“Luck is the residue of design”
– Branch Rickey
“Luck is not something you can mention in the presence of self-made men”
– E.B. White
“Good luck is another name for tenacity of purpose”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
“No great achievement happens by luck”
– Howard Schultz
I like the quotes and they are new to me. Another one I like is “I believe in luck, but find that the harder I work, the luckier I get.”
Thomas Jefferson.
“Luck is when opportunity meets preparedness.” Said by many…including Larry J?? 🙂
I was going to add quote sent in by Mary. I had heard that years ago and felt it the case when I met Basement Systems and Larry 12 years ago.
I have always felt that luck is mostly a God given gift, given when we are ready to receive it.
Isn’t it great that a few well chosen words can conjure up grand emotions. Love the quotes!
Luck,… is where preparation meets opportunity-unknown already said above it appears
Luck was a Greek god. How’s that working out?
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.
Luck is when preparedness meets opportunity.
Earl Nightingale
My dad used to say that the harder you work the luckier you get.
