Living with Uncertainty

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

For many, uncertainty means risk and causes fear.

“What if,” we ask.

That fear holds many back.

We can’t expect a life without uncertainty.  Nothing is promised.  All we can do is work to craft the life we want.  If ‘surprises’ happen, we deal with it and keep going.

If we want certainty in life, we can only get it by playing very very small.

“If we insist on being as sure as is conceivable, we must be content to creep along the ground, and can never soar.” – John Henry Newman

“Ah, what a dusty answer gets the soul when hot for certainties in this our life!” – George Meredith

“Uncertainty is the necessary companion of all explorers.” – Marilyn Ferguson

There’s no adventure in certainty. Adventure is the flavor of life. It makes the journey exciting and enjoyable!

Amazing timing on this post. Yesterday a problem with potential serious consequences came up, it’s not the end of the world, but it’s going to be a problem.
For the day and into the evening, troubled by this issue. It’s like the rain cloud over your head, raining, following only you for the day. The reality is as business owners, we have had these problems in the past, will have them in the future. They are tough to navigate. In the interim, it is “Uncertainty”. Never thought about it like that, that helps. Thanks for sharing.

Uncertainty instantly pulls us out of our comfort zone, that place where success lives. I will choose, today to embrace the uncertainty and forge ahead to a better place.
