In different situations, we can be kind, helpful, productive, happy, and centered, etc, OR rude, callous, bitter, violent and jealous, etc.
We all have the potential for each version in us, and we have all brought each side out at times – at our best and worst moments.
In this struggle, the great challenge is to be our best as we walk through our time here each day.
Your lower self, or your higher self – which version of you wins?
Thanks, Larry – great reminder.
I have a meeting this morning on a topic over which frustrations are running pretty high in the organization – it’ll be good to have this check on my own attitude and emotions on the forefront of my approach to the discussion.
Have a Great Day!
I am also thankful for Chris Bailey.
Which version wins?
The One You Feed!
In the Cherokee story of “Two Wolves”, an elder tells a young person about a battle between two wolves inside of themselves, often represented as a white wolf and a black wolf, as a metaphor for inner conflict. The elder then asks the listener which wolf will win, and replies, “The one you feed”
It’s a choice!
We learn and grow everyday but it’s our choice what we choose to learn and adopt.
Positivity versus Negativity!
Which one will you feed?
Great post and thoughts.
Yeah, Chris Bailey!!
Excellent point. Taking the high road is always the right decision but it’s hard to consistently do this, especially in the face of life’s daily challenges. Let’s keep at it.
Go, New England! Love it here!
I have often regretted when I was rude, callous, bitter, or unkind but I can not recall a time when I regretted being kind, helpful, productive or happy! Regret occupies valuable mental resources. To live our best and most productive lives we much change our attitudes and behaviors so we don’t have any regrets!
Wrote this a few years back. Seemed appropriate. Thanks for what you do~
