Studies have revealed that people with positive views of old age do better than people with negative views.
People with the brightest beliefs live 7 1/2 years longer than people with the gloomiest beliefs!
I turn 60 next month and I am looking forward to the decade! I’m gonna rock it!
What are your views about old age?
Dave and I both turn sixty this year too — we think this decade is going to rock! Looking forward to having more free time to play and travel 💪🙏
FYI Larry, a book recommendation for you — one that blew me away, about the link between diet and mental health (including Alzheimer’s) — this is the direction that psychiatric care is having the most exciting gains, but good to know for everyone: Change Your Diet, Change Your Mind, by Dr. Georgia Ede (it’s good on audiobook too and was just recommended from the NYTimes). After all, the brain is an organ too, when we treat our body badly, our mind suffers too. It is of great interest to me because we have a son who is bipolar and struggles mightily. If the book is too big a stretch for you right now, check out some of her talks on YouTube, fascinating info.
Have a Happy 4th!
I’ll be 66 in September and still race
dirt bikes, and have been riding them since I was ten. Planning to get a KOVE 800 and start doing Rally with the OPA group. Can’t imagine living without bikes!

I pay close to attention to how folks older than me organize their lives – what they prioritize and how they make it happen. These observations help think about, then clarify, what I want to do in the years ahead. What’s so clear to me is developing strong friendships, then staying consistently active with them, is critical to long-term happiness. My dad is 78 and still is close with his high school pals – they go on road trips, drink beers and talk about their kids and grandkids. Good friendships = good health!
