Funny story – My friend Mike Lane went out on a friends boat fishing. (He never fishes.) Not paying attention, a big fish hit his line and he reels in the Connecticut state record Sea Bass!
My other friend Mark Daconto goes racing in Baja for the time in the passenger seat in our race car, and we win the Baja 1000!
It doesn’t always happen that you win the first time out. But if you never try, nothing good can happen.
To have victories you have to play. Get in the game. Sometimes you lose. But, with your efforts – sometimes you win!
That’s a funny story about Mike Lane that I didn’t know. Thanks for sharing!
Better to be a racer for a moment then a spectator for a lifetime.
I love getting in the game. Everyday. Don’t always win, or set a personal best – but creating opportunities every day!
Great stories! One year in February I was racing a 17 mile mountain bike time trial. I had a mechanical less than half way through. Rather than DNF, I ran, and walked my bike through the technical single track, and rode the descents. I eventually finished. At the line luck was on my side as I won a pair of custom made $1,000 hubs!
I really needed to hear this today. Thank you!
