Defeat

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

If we won all the time we wouldn’t learn anything and would not try to get better.

“A defeat may break your heart, but it’s worth it of it opens your eyes.” – Dr. Mardy Grothe

In order to have a breakthrough, something has got to break.

What defeats have you had in your life that, after a bit of time, you realize it made you better?

To answer your question, “every defeat”. Every defeat made me better but since I got over them and got better they really weren’t defeats! Every difficult customer is a lesson for how to better deal with customers in the future. Every costly mistake is a lesson on how to do it different and better in the future. Even mistakes caused by someone not following our directions is still a lesson on how we could do better explaining what it is we want. It is rare that something bad happens within our business where we the leaders aren’t at least somewhat at fault. When we do better our people do better, our customers like us more and our profits show it!

So True
I’ve just been to Papua New Guinea to hike the Kokoda trail , a famous WW2 battle ground .
Unfortunately I had to be airlifted out due to becoming unwell, I was gutted but I will be back , unfinished business.
