Arrogance

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Arrogance is ignorance plus confidence.

Confidence is great and necessary.  But how do you know you are ignorant?

How do you know what you don’t know,  or that you don’t know?

Watch out.  Don’t be arrogant because you will lose your ability to influence others.

Be humble.  Listen.  Learn.

“You don’t know what you don’t know.” Is a favorite saying at our Tech Council meetings.
And not only is Ice Cream Emergency a great name for a company, her concept – and the actual ice cream – are awesome! 😋

Time to go into the ice cream business with that name!!

Confidence plus humility. Always be open to the possibility there’s something you don’t know (because there always is). Then try to learn what it is by asking people “what am I missing here?” Or ask yourself, “what are the merits of the opposite idea/viewpoint here?”
