Great people make you feel you can become great too.
Who is that for you?

The smartest man I ever met was Walter O’Malley, who owned the Dodgers. He not only made continuous good decisions by seeing around corners, he always had a smile and made you feel great in his company. He had a personal remark every time, indicating he knew you and something special about you that he’d call out with a chuckle. I was a teen when I met him and I never failed to look forward to being around him. Not many great achievers, people who break through walls, also have great charm and magnetism. Some politicians have this, and that’s why they are where they are, but they also have half the voters love them and half dislike them. Few get 60% of the vote, let alone 80, 90 or 100%. Most great business leaders are polarizing, it’s almost required to make difficult, unpopular decisions. People loved working for Walter O’Malley. Have to acknowledge that there are still people in Brooklyn who hate him for moving the Dodgers, but they didn’t know him.

For me, that person is Wes Martin of Mid-States Basement Systems. His positive outlook on life and the friendship I have with him is irreplaceable to me! The team in this network, including you, is one I wouldn’t change for anything!

I have identified and gotten to know role models in every key area of my life. Have found this to be very helpful. One of my hobbies is playing the trumpet. Doc Severinsen is my favorite. I’ve had the good fortune to talk with him, attend masterclasses and stand along side him playing the national anthem at a professional baseball game.
