Read from paper pages before sleep

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Screens keep you awake at night and prevent you from getting enough sleep for two reasons.

Blue light makes your brain emit chemicals that keep you awake and the content is endless and irresistable.

Get into bed and shut the screens off.  Read instead.  Read from paper pages.

Goodnight…..zzzz…..

Totally agree. I started this practice a couple of years ago and it’s made a big difference.

if using screens aka kindle, ipad, turn the screen to night running (blue shade), if having to use a screen. not sure if this can be done on a main computer terminal screen

ASMR is all the rage, but I prefer to fall asleep to a podcast, usually something innocuous from a cooking show like The Splendid Table or Milk Street. It gives my eyeballs a rest and keeps that part of my brain busy that wants to rehash the day. I can ‘listen’ to the same podcast for several days, because I rarely get more than five minutes in before I’m asleep!
