Single handling

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

One productivity tip is to touch/deal with something once.

Don’t make purgatory piles on your desk of things you will get to tomorrow or the next day (who are you kidding?  There’s stuff in those piles with 2020 dates on them!) – knock it out now.

Don’t be known as the place where ideas and things go to die.

You have it in your hand or open in your mailbox – take care of it now.  It will save time in the long run.

Delete/chuck/call/respond/read/act/delegate…

Single handling.  Done.  Next….

Short and sweet – great reminder.
Thanks, Larry! Have a Great Day!

Agreed! The purgatory pile is no joke – hate it when mine grows. It can be a necessary evil when waiting for other members of my team or clients to get back to me. As long as it doesn’t turn into a landfill of forgotten tasks…

Jackie Grant

I can be guilty of the purgatory pile~ Thank you for this important reminder!
Always grateful for Tony and Nancy Hafford. Two of the best people around!

Mike Mitchell

Absolutely agree. Piles are most generally unmade decisions. Take care of things as they arrive – kill then if needed – and move on.

David Kase

I learned this a long time ago.
It really is a great time management tool.

Jon Bridgan

I love this and try to do this in both my business and personal life. Just started working for Tony Hafford and am very grateful.
