Keep Learning – Stay Sharp

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

School is not the only place to learn things.

People who are lifelong learners, and make it a habit to learn something every day, are the ones who will succeed over the rest.

Research shows dementia went down significantly in people who are always learning new things.

This makes sense – if we don’t use our body, it gets smaller, loses its capacity, and goes away.

If we don’t use our minds, they lose their capacity, get smaller, and go away.

What are you reading, studying, and learning about now?

Larry, We’ve been working with you since I met you in 2004 at a World of Concrete in Vegas. We’re a design-build firm in the South Bay area of California and have been using your drainage-related products since shortly after meeting with you and your firm. Lou Beemer was our rep for a while. I started a Ph.D. program in 2021, at age 57, and I have about two years left. I did it because we have a scholarship program and our employees weren’t taking advantage of it, so I set the example and did something I’ve always wanted to do, and be the first in our family to get a Ph.D. It’s tough, but rewarding, as I am learning quite a bit. Keep up the good works. Sincerely, Mark Garrison

Currently reading How to Win friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. This is my 4th time reading this book and it has brought so many new opportunities for me. I’ve learned to take different approaches in talking or debating and what kind of mindset to have in many particular situations. I’d recommend this book to all who wish to expand their knowledge on humanity. The audio book is amazing, I bought it from the books app on my iphone but it’s also on audible as well.
