Become a professional communicator

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

People who do not communicate well don’t get promoted, can’t sell well, can’t enroll others in their vision, and don’t get what they want very often.

People who can create clarity, understanding, empathy, transfer confidence and enthusiasm, and enroll others will do far better and feel far less frustrated.

It can feel scary saying things you haven’t said before in ways you haven’t before to people you haven’t before, but do it anyway.  Practice makes you better.

Become a professional communicator.

This is great advice. Many of my past problems could have been prevented or more quickly solved with better communication. I realize more than ever that when people don’t do what I ask it’s usually because they didn’t understand what I asked them to do. If then you find someone not following my clear directions then I know they are probably not someone I should have around. The people I have around me for the most part want to do what I ask. It’s up to me to ask in the right way so that they do it correctly.

Effective communication helps leaders build trust and credibility with their teams. One of the most important elements of effective communication is the language you use. What’s the best way to expand your language skills? Read, write and listen to the words of others. You’ll learn what to say, and what not to say, too.

I wrote down this the other day and placed it under the glass on my desk. “The power of VISION and CLARITY, which are vital and help you sort out what you will do, are that YOU can think with the END in mind!!!!!!” thank you Larry for all the wisdom you givef.
