Be nice, play nice

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Powerful leadership tool – be nice.

People don’t want to work for someone who is not, and they will go out of their way to work with someone who is.

Recognize moments when you should shift suddenly from your current daily pace and attitude of getting things done to being nice.  If you are unsure, play it safe and shift to “nice”.

(If you are an introvert like me, recognize it can be interpreted by those that don’t know you well as you being not nice – so you have to try extra hard (even though you think you are nice)).

How nice are you?

Mother Teresa said “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier …” Works just as well in business as in life.

I had a rare down day on Monday, I could have been nicer and I knew it.

Wow, I would never have guessed you being an introvert Larry, impressive for what you do, life is full of surprises, all of my family is outgoing, parents school teachers, brother very successful and wealthy and sister very outgoing as well in the school system, myself a black sheep. Didn’t enjoy school and worked shift work if I could to be alone or with one individual with social anxiety. Only my hobbies bring me out of it a little, thank God for them and thank God my wife, son and daughter are more outgoing, life is what it is, you have to do the best with what you were given. I know what you are going through and it is draining. Take care, Steve.
