“Part of me feels like a superstar and part of me feels I’m a loser.” – John Lennon
Lots of successful people have admitted this. Meryl Streep, Will Smith….
Have you? I know I feel like I’m failing some moments or some days.
It’s normal. High achievers get outside their comfort zone and do things they have not done before. They are not good at those things yet and feel incompetent. Sometimes you are growing and haven’t worked all the kinks out yet and it feels like things are out of control.
Winners are losers who kept on going. Winners didn’t always feel like they knew exactly what they were doing or what to do. Great achievement looks great when it’s done, but it’s foggy and messy getting there.
If you feel like you are firmly in control and have it all together all the time, you probably are playing it safe and small.
Believe in yourself, take care of yourself, keep learning – and keep going!
I cannot stress how important and helpful positive self-talk and correcting negative thought patterns can be. If I catch myself feeling down and out, I try to correct the thoughts and behaviour immediately. Sometimes obviously easier said than done, and I don’t beat myself up if it takes me longer than usual to catch this. Be easy on yourself, keep moving forward, and never give up.
Never give up, never surrender!
This really helped me this morning. Patrick that was a great comment. It sound I wrote it. Thanks for the comment! It makes me feel not so alone
Sir,
You have better information, ideas, suggestions, and advise than my paid mental well being professional.
Thank you. It is always a pleasure reading both of your emails.
I typically read them in the evening as they will relate somehow to part of my day.
Thank you again.
