Freedom is one of those incredibly valuable things that you don’t appreciate until you lose it.  That’s why we have to continually tak about it to others and to young people.  The whole world is not a freedom fantasy land.  Men can be evil when given the power to do so.  History shows us lots of examples.

Our country was founded by men who tried to prevent this from happening here.  They wrote it up the best they could, and they and others since have warned us of the dangers creeping in.  And, they were right.  They are creeping in.

In the US, we have the freedom to do what we want.  This is an amazing freedom.  In exercising it, we find if we don’t contribute to others, we won’t get many rewards (money) and limit our options to do things that cost money.  So many of us work hard and smart making a contribution to others they will pay for, and other people decide they don’t want to do that.   

That’s freedom.  Freedom does not produce equal outcomes for all.  But the alternative (socialism, in all its forms) produces equally shared misery.

Freedom to do with our lives what we want.  Wow.  That’s awesome.

The “civil war” has started in South Africa, about 2 weeks ago, under the destruction of the socialism that came with the ANC party about 27 years ago. So, yes Larry, you are 100% correct: enjoy your freedom in your wonderful Country.

The preamble to the Constitution reads: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

The United States was also founded with / for a greater, inherent collective.
