If we compare where we are in life to other people who are doing better than us, or to the life of our dreams all the time, we will always feel disappointed with our life.
Instead, compare where you are to where you were; where you started out. (If you are in the same place, and you like it there, you wouldn’t likely be a subscriber). If you are in the same situation as when you grew up, or as you were years ago, that’s not good.
But most of us have made progress, and we can look back and say “I used to be there, and now I am here, and I am proud of that”. We have gone from nowhere to somewhere.
Put where you are against where used to be, not where you want to be all the time.
I have a question of the day book I write in. Today’s questions asked how I felt about perfection. I feel in a sense that this parallels your question today. My answer was “I always strive for it even though I know it is impossible.” Why do I strive for the impossible? The answer is simple. I want to always try to become a better person in ever aspect of my life. Good Morning to everyone and make it a great day!
Great Thought Larry, we need a win sometimes!!!
This message rang true for me, Larry. My journalism mentor reminds me all the time about how far I’ve come since he met me a looong time ago.
