As I talk about often in our School of Entrepreneurship, a business owner can not win unless customers AND employees win first. In fact, it’s employees first, because without trained engaged employees, no customer can win.
Recently I read words from Joe Polish that reinforced this idea –
“1. We make our employees’ lives better by making our customers’ lives better.
2. We make our customers’ lives better by making our employees’ lives better.
3. Trying to separate the two will only end in tears. “
Are you going for the triple win? Or is one leg of that a little wobbly?
When I interview any one for any position I tell them that we are always striving for Win/Win/Win scenarios. It has to be a Win for the Customer, a Win for the Employee and a Win for the Company. Over time if it is not a Win for one group they will be gone and the other two cannot survive very long without the other two. We discuss this consistently at every company meeting we have.
