The Rat Racers Illusion

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

The rat racers illusion is that reaching some future destination will bring him lasting happiness.  He does not recognize the significance of the journey.  He becomes a slave to the future.

Attaining lasting happiness requires we enjoy the journey on the way to a destination we deem valuable.

Happiness is not at the peak of the mountain.  Nor is in the experience of walking around it and avoiding the challenge.

It’s in the experience of climbing toward the peak.

It’s the Law if Attraction to focus in the present moment daily and to be happy. When you are happy you keep smiling, leave tension and worry behind, feel the joy and peace. The Secret of Happiness is to count your blessings while others are counting their troubles.
Always being happy will allow you to reach the peak of the mountain and when it’s achieved you’ll have that exilirating feeling of having reached all your goals and achieved success.

Smiling as I’m reading your blog this morning. I believe it and I’m living it!

I would like to have learned this a long time ago. I was a prototypical rat racer for thirty years. Enjoy today (even if it is being a pain in the derriere) because today is the only day you will ever have.
