One third of your time should be spent Training those team members

Each day, I try to (1) Intentionally listen to others, i.e. regardless of their of words, tone, topic, body language, etc., what is it they are really saying that they want me to know? (2) Help them know that they have been understood, if not that, then at least make them aware that someone is listening to them; that I am making time for them because they are important important.

I’m getting better at these, through practice. It then makes the business of doing business easier.
