Sales people should be aware of all fhe products company offers not just their own dept. When sales person attends career fair to recruit students you are selling your programs, the university and you are rhe image of your employer e.g. a graduate admissions counselor besides knowing the graduate programs they are selling but the undergraduate programs the university has to offer and get the clients information to the appropriate dept for the undergraduate lead. You come back with leads that are yours and the university. A great win for all. You must be able to convert leads to actially sales retaining them which increases the revenue and your salary that is tied into your performance. As Jim Collins says this is great leaders not just good. Level 5 leaders have humility and willpower to go to extra mile for others not just themselves. They care about the cause and the organization first because it enables them to become great sales people with job security longterm as long as their performance level increases.
