Desire

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

We have talked about desire many times before.  Let’s look at this quote from Goethe.

“Desire is the presentiment of our inner abilities, and the forerunner of our ultimate accomplishments.”

He says that desire is the presentiment of our inner abilites.  What that means is that if we desire something, it is possible for us, even if we can’t do it now.  The ability is in us, and the desire will cause us to do what is necessary to bring it out.

He then says that desire is the “forerunner of our ultimate accomplishments”.  Accomplishment begins with desire.

So if you have a desire, do you think you should follow it?

If coming from a biblical background, this question mite be best overlaid onto giving God permission to open and close doors as he sees fit each morning. Just a thought…

I just watched the trailer. I pondered for about a hour after reading this and watching the trailer. I’m thinking hey. This is supposed to be my element. What I’m doing may be hard to others but for me it’s supposed to be fun. Is it fun for me I ask myself. Well last year was hard. So people like the alpinist think that it’s hard and break down from time to time? Or are they just in their element and thrive. Is sit learned or not? If something is for you..is it supposed to feel hard sometimes or even scary? I’m intrigued and excited to see this movie tonight. I am deathly afraid of heights. That’s why I got out of masonry and stuck to basements in the first place LOL. Also I’m a short Italian guy so maybe I stoped growing at 5’2 because I’m afraid of heights haha. Whatever the case is this movie is very exciting because I’m so afraid of heights and this guy goes out of his way for fun I might add to climb steep rocky icy mountains. Insane to me and very scary. Should I face my fears of that? I don’t want to lol but maybe I should.
