Some people have a title – but little authentic influence. People only listen to them and “follow” them because of their title.
Other leaders are followed, title or not, because of who they authentically are. They care, they give, they create opportunities and success for others, and they do it because that’s who they are, not because it’s their job.
People can tell the difference.
Is your authority and influence authentic and earned?
True leadership isn’t something that one merely acquires by virtue of a certain title or position. The authority that comes with that is short lived if it isn’t linked to someone with excellent leadership capabilities. I have been interviewing people who are excellent at “leadership without leverage” and found their insights and tips to be most insightful.
Love this and totally agree. Every leader should aspire to earn authentic authority.
Love this. Good morning Larry . Think Daily and S.O.E are the best parts of my morning .
