There is a simple way for a salesperson to be totally comfortable in any situation with any type of prospect, and it’s not a gimmick or complex. It’s so simple and it can be used at will anytime – and should be.
The “secret” is to show up for the prospect. Be there FOR THEM. Say to yourself that you genuinely care about the person and are there to help them, whether you make a sale or not.
This point of view will have you asking questions and listening. It will have you giving the best advice from a place of authenticity and care; and when you do that, you’ll wind up making lots of friends and lots of sales and getting lots of referrals.
So before you walk into your next appointment, say “I am here for this customer and to do everything I can to help them”.
