People that work on your team need the right amount of expectation to do better, but not too much.
There is a sweet spot where you get maximum performance out of them.
Too little and they get bored and don’t do better. Too much and they burn out and become bitter.
Give them doable targets and celebrate small wins and continuous forward motion.
It is amazing how much that an enterprise can be improved by setting realistic goals that align with the goals of the enterprise, and then celebrating the successes of achieving those goals. People like to win.
