I’ve talked a lot about this in our School of Entrepreneurship classes – and Jim Fannin said it this way. Manage your “see-ables”.
We take in most of the information we consume through our (cameras) eyes. Everything we and others see in and around our business sends a message – what is going on, how things are, how we do it here, what we put up with, are we behind, do we value quality…
Take care of what you can see in your business. Your desktop, your office, your lobby and all the spaces in your business – all of them. When the leader has the see-ables saying the right things, people understand better and faster what is expected, and their attitudes reflect it.
