We no longer teach or encourage patriotism in American classrooms, and this omission is being felt in our society. Often, American history is seen as a long series of missteps and bad decisions.
Yet, America stands as a place that people of much of the world would trade their citizenship for ours and feel they hit the lottery. Clearly, America’s presence has transformed the world by example and policy.
The American story is an effort to live up to lofty and demanding ideals. There are always things we could have done better, or things we could have got right years earlier, but the good obviously outweighs the bad – by far.
I’m staying. I pledge allegiance to the flag.
Nicely stated.
Amen
Ty?????
I pledge allegiance also – and am proud to do so
I pledge allegiance to the flag. Always and forever
Thank you for this post. We were recently at the JFK library in Boston where We saw about 100 people going through their naturalization ceremony. They had all come here legally, learned the language and learned the constitution. Young and old and from many different backgrounds they came. They were so happy, waving flags taking pictures of each other. It was really heartwarming to see in this day and age where our country gets put down so much and we are told that anybody can come here illegally And deserve a full rights
I pledge allegiance to the flag,
Amen!! Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!
Right on Brother!!!
Very well said! Proudly I am the one who feels like “hit a lottery”!

I PROUDLY pledge allegiance to our flag ….. and never fail to feel a sense of honor & respect every time I do so.
Hi,
Good topic. I remember when I was growing up the pledge of allegiance and I think it inspired patriotism and respect for our country and the flag. If you have traveled to other countries you would see how much better we have it here.
AMEN!
Love the message!
