Because of me being the founder and leader of a big company, and because so many know me from my recordings and training before they ever meet me, some are nervous or humbled when they meet me. I find this interesting because in my mind I see myself as a regular guy doing his best.
I always try to diffuse their misconceived notions because people seeing that I am better than them is counter to who I am and what I am trying to do in the world. It makes me feel funny and reduces my chances of reaching people in the way I want to.

Good morning Larry! This one speaks volumes to me. One because I got to meet you and shake your hand for the first time a couple of years ago at convention and I was star struck. I think more so though because I have worked with my company for now 13 years and I have listened to you, learned from you and admired you and to finally be able to meet you was great! That conversation was very short lived. THEN, I was able to sit and eat breakfast with you one morning at a convention in Omaha and you ARE a humble “regular” guy. We sat and had conversations about your kids and your upcoming races. It was simply great to enjoy this conversation with you! Secondly, I also treat myself this way. I don’t look at myself any different than anyone else..humble is the way to be! We all put our pants on the same way every day!
Phenomenal message today Larry. Hoping to some day get you down to Bridgeport to Homes for the Brave, where we serve male and female Veterans. Please consider visiting us as I am confident that you will leave impressed. Vince
About 23 years ago I was cold calling executives to try and get them to attend a supply chain management conference my company was hosting. I was a little nervous and my manager said to me “Chris, the executives put on their pants to go to work just like you do.” I will always remember her saying that bit of advice to me and I was so confident going forward with those calls.
