Be nice to your employees

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

People can stay employed and only give 1/3 of what they are capable of – that’s proven every day by the millions.  Getting them to want to give their best, or at least closer to it, depends on a number of factors.

One of them is if they like their boss/supervisor.  If you smile at them genuinely, care, take an interest, and want to see them do well.  If they give 70% instead of 50% because they know you like them and they want to reciprocate and not let you down, then you just reduced your labor costs by 20% for the same output.

Simple, and powerful.
