"Blue on Blue"

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

In the Navy Seals, “Blue on Blue” means friendly fire – getting attacked (by accident) by another Seal in the battle.

In business, it means intercompany fighting and turf wars that can and will rip a company apart. We have enough trouble with the competition that is trying to kill us, without us killing ourselves from within.

When leaders put their needs above those of the team….when managers only look out for their department and not the whole….when employees believe “the enemy” is on their own team…when people are pre-occupied with blaming others instead of learning from mistakes and getting better….it’s a death sentence for any company.

There is no greater leadership failure than an organization collapsing from within.

Guessing this would be one good reason for communication between departments (gears….the oil 🙂
