In marketing and people – it doesn’t work. In materials it may not either.

Good morning Larry,
I really enjoy reading your words or wisdom each morning however I don’t understand this one this morning. Any chance you could explain it further please?
Thank you,

Hi Larry,
Will you please elaborate on this for me? I have a few of your wise statements printed and in my office as reminders… But I don’t get this one.
Thanks, Bob Bird

I’m glad that I seem to be on the same page as many with this one. I enjoy getting Think Daily everyday, but need a little more clarification to understand todays, thanks Larry.

I’m taking this as an idea to spend as little as possible on some things, but as for people, marketing, and materials it might not be a good option.
You have to ‘spend money to make money.’ Or ‘you get what you put in’ Or like Matt mentioned, ‘You get what you pay for.’
Great people are not always the cheapest.
Marketing cheaply may only get few results.
Premium materials will outlast the cheaper options.
As business people we might be open to the idea of cutting costs somewhere and hopefully in return profit will increase, but will it really work on these few things?

Hi Larry,
Normally I completely understand and appreciate all of you insight. But today, I must admit that I am a bit confused. I have always believed that you should spend on your people, whether that means paying a higher wage for experience or providing ongoing training. So I’m wondering if maybe you could provide further information regarding your stance?
