Who's the leader?

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

If there were no titles in your business, and the team members were polled to ask “who are the leaders here?”, what would they say?

Will any names come up of people who are not currently charged to lead? Perhaps they should be…

Andrea

Are the managers afraid to lead because they want to avoid getting on the bad side of the main leader?

People who worked together for a longer period know exactly when, what or how to present or when to withhold information or certain actions to avoid irritation or a blow up on someone else’s part. People are stopped by their fear of not being good enough, sharp or fast enough. People are different and they have different perspectives, goals and priorities. As the leader it is your job to understand what holds your guys back from applying themselves fully to every day tasks. People stay quiet because they do not want to face a challenging situation or a confrontation.

Watch and listen.

The leader sees things from a different perspective because he lives a different life. It is good to mingle with the small guys once in a while to better understand their worries, challenges and blocks. People act differently with the leader than they would with anyone else because the leader is the alpha and they rest of the team knows that.

Who wants to challenge or face the alpha’s wrath?

Who dares to challenge or face the alpha’s wrath?

Who can afford to challenge or face the alpha’s wrath?
