Superior or inferior?

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Some people think they are better than everyone else. Sure they may have a certain skill or area where they are better, but that’s not what I am talking about. I mean a general sense they are better. This is not a good attitude to have. Nobody likes to hang out with or cooperate with someone who thinks they are better than they are.

More commonly, people think other people are better than they are. They think others are more capable, more able, more popular, more talented, better connected, etc. The world is full of people selling themselves short; people who don’t try because they don’t think they are capable.

How about you?

Luke

I’m still trying to find the balance.

Andrea

I try not to compare myself to others or think about what they think of me because at the end of the day I have to pay my own bills and I am the one who has to like myself.

I am trainable and adaptable (to a certain extent). Some things I can change others I can’t (or I do not know how to do it yet). Sometimes I just want to be taken care of, other times I feel responsible for taking care of others.

I am many things at the same time. It all depends who is looking, what my priorities are, and how I make the person standing next to me feel.

Compatibility is what determines who and what I am at any given moment.

Walter Johnson

I have both. Very difficult to deal with. Developing an understanding and genuinely seeing others as just others rather than superior or inferior is my life’s work and apparently I haven’t done too well at it.

Phillip

It is a balancing act but you must also understand that you can’t just fix stupid. As long as we aim consistently higher we will improve.
