Things scare us because we tell ourselves they do, and we retract and live inside those self-imposed boundaries. If we limit ourselves, we live small.
To live bigger, do the things that scare you. Soon enough, they won’t scare you so much, and maybe not at all.
You’ll get your blood flowing, feel the exhilaration life can offer, sleep better, and fear less.
What are you going to do that you wouldn’t normally because it’s “scary”?
I’m going to tell my wife she is wrong. See you on the other side. Phil.
Im gonna trust someone to take on a task that in the past normally only I would pursue.
Hey, Larry! Ok, fine. I’ll delegate.
Every year I present the first sermon of the year at my church. (Unitarian Universalist Church of Jacksonville.) And yes, it is always a little “scary”- but they keep asking me to do this every year. I do believe in challenging yourself for many reasons. It’s a very good way to grow in many areas, so I guess I will keep doing it until they tell me to stop!
Your absolutely right! I know friends that skydive for exactly that reason!
Thanks for the shout out Larry Janesky. My life changing decisions are often difficult but I am a Leader in all that I do. There is no fear because I have Christ in my life and He knows me by name. To answer your specific question, I will quit my job (resignation letter already submitted) or negotiate the reasons I stay and let the Lord guide me.
