This would include the TV in your hand, which sometimes can trick you, I also try to leave it behind when I go! Well said Larry!

There is actually SO much more involved in having depression- genetic predisposition, chemical imbalance, life situations out of your control. As someone who has multiple family members with depression and as an individual with a Masters in Social Work who spends all day with clients suffering from depression, perhaps you should take more time to research what actually is involved with a true diagnosis of depression.
This way of thinking, by people who so clearly have no clue what they’re talking about, is the reason why there is such stigma around mental illness.
If it was as easy as turning the tv off and going outside and living, do you really think so many people would still be getting this diagnosis? No. So clearly it isn’t that simple. People with depression WOULD get up and go outside and enjoy life if they could, but it is not that simple.
So please, before you feel like you’re qualified to state that the cure for depression is as simple as this, educate yourself a little bit more. Better yet, leave this topic to the professionals who are qualified to discuss it.

Dear “Qualified Professional”. You may read my post again. I did not say that this was the only cause of depression or that this was the cure. Good luck to you.
Well said Larry!
