In many businesses, the Highest Paid Person’s Opinion rules. This is a problem, because the HIPPO isn’t the best informed person in all areas.
The HIPPO (often leader) needs to know what he/she doesn’t know, and discern good ideas from bad ones by asking questions and listening and learning (99%) so that he/she can make the right decision (1%).
