One of our convention speakers, John Foley, was a Blue Angels pilot. Wow! He told us about the teamwork, discipline, trust, planning and debriefing necessary to fly big jets three feet apart doing manuevers at 500 knots. It was amazing!
One thing they do is always say “Glad to be here” when planning and debriefing. It sounded corny to some at first. What difference could that make? But after hearing him talk about it, and us all saying it a lot, it really changes your perspective. When you say “Glad to be here”, and really generate it, you are acknowledging to yourself that you GET TO be here, rather than have to be here.
Try it.
“Glad to be here”
Glad to be here!
His speech was amazing, I noticed we had large video cameras at the convention recording him, where can we find the video of his speech? I’d love to watch it again.
Good Morning,
So Glad To Be Here! It Will Be A Great Day!
I have begun incorporating this in our weekly sales meeting and our everyday attitude. Mr. Foley did a great job and we at DryZone are really running with this attitude! Thanks, everyone for a great, inspiring week!
Glad to be here!
It really stops and makes you think about your actions. If you “Think Daily”
about it and say it, it’s telling you if your not happy at your job or with your life you should change it 🙂
Glad to see this today! What a mantra with which to start your day. Embracing this for sure.
Glad to be here… Means so much more than four words. It’s a lifestyle change that each individual has to embrace to build that unit cohesion. Great speech!
I also would like a copy if there are some available!
Thanks for everything Larry!
Nearly every day people will ask, “How are you?” and my response always catches them off-guard, “I couldn’t be better”. I was raised to be grateful and knowing that God is on His throne and He dishes out each day, I couldn’t be better!!
Thanks Larry and everyone,
It was an honor a privilege to be with such a proud group.
Keep it alive!
Glad to be Here
